A site dedicated to keeping you informed about all of the happenings with the UHSPAC. The Union High School Performing Arts Company is one of the strongest arts training programs in the state of New Jersey. The UHSPAC is an award-winning theatre department.
The Theater Department has received many nominations and awards in the Paper Mill Playhouse Rising Star awards, a yearly competition that recognizes excellence in Musical Theater throughout the state of New Jersey. They currently hold the record for the most awards ever won by a show for their 2015 production of Duke Ellington's Sophisticated Ladies; winning nine awards in one evening. Awards received over the years include: Best Overall Musical (3x); Best Direction (2x); Best Musical Direction; Best Choreography (3x); Best Chorus (2x); Best Orchestra (4x); Best Scenery (6x); Best Lighting (4x); Best Graphic Design (3x); Best Leading Actress (4x); Best Supporting Actor (2x) & Actress (2x); Best Hair and Make-up Design; and Best Ensemble Group (3x).
